Stanton Energy Reliability Center Announces Scholarship Program for Stanton High School Students

Stanton Energy Reliability Center, a community energy reliability center, has announced a new scholarship program for Stanton community high schools. Applicants must be graduating from high school in 2016 and pursuing secondary education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

 

W Power Completes Sale of the Nicolis, LLC and Tropico, LLC Solar Projects to Coronal Tulare, LLC, and An Entity of the Panasonic-Coronal Group Strategic Partnership.

Sacramento, CA – W Power, a California based owner and operator of power generation facilities announced today the closing of the sale of two solar generating facilities located in Tulare, CA. The Nicolis facility, with a rating of 20 mw’s and the Tropico facility with a rating of 14 mw’s were both sold to Coronal Tulare, LLC, a Panasonic-Coronal Group entity.   While the terms of the purchase and sale remain confidential, both parties will gain significant benefits from the transaction. “We are very pleased with this deal. It underscores the value being created in our development pipeline and creates liquidity to focus on some of the more strategic and mature developments in our portfolio”, said Kara Miles, President of W Power. W Power is a California certified woman-and-minority owned business enterprise (“WMBE”) focused on doing business in California’s energy industry.  W Power develops, builds, owns and operates community energy reliability centers (CERC).

 

W Power scores two solar power purchase agreements with SCE

W Power entered into two 20-year solar photovoltaic power purchase agreements for the Nicolis 20 MWac and Tropico 14 MWac projects to be located near the town of Ducor, in Tulare County, CA.  The projects are expected to reach commercial operations in 2016.  W Power has an additional 136 MW of solar photovoltaic projects under late stage development, also located in Tulare County and Fresno County.

 

Delano Energy Center Awards Scholarships to College-Bound Seniors

Delano Energy Center, a community energy reliability center, has announced the recipients of its 1st annual college scholarship program. Students are selected who are majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) studies; exhibit personal or community leadership; demonstrate financial need; and plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
