Delano Energy Center Awards Scholarships to College-Bound Seniors
Delano Energy Center, a community energy reliability center, has announced the recipients of its 1st annual college scholarship program. Students are selected who are majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) studies; exhibit personal or community leadership; demonstrate financial need; and plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
Robert F. Kennedy High School’s scholarship winner is Jeffrey Julian. Jeffrey plans to major in Nursing/Biology at California State University, Bakersfield. Kara Miles, Delano Energy Center President and CEO presented the scholarship at the school’s awards assembly on May 19 at 11 am.
Riggie Casabar is the scholarship recipient from Cesar Chavez High School. Riggie plans to major in Nursing at Bakersfield College. He received his award from Delano Energy Center Chairwoman Judith Dittmer on May 21 at 10:00 am during his school’s senior awards assembly.
The scholarship winner from Delano High School is Evamae Bayudan. She will be majoring in Pre-Med at University of California – Los Angeles.
